More "BUBBLE" perspectives

This photo that was shot through some bubble glass in a Rosarita shop reminded me of your "dish-washing" shot on February 8.

Northern Baja Wine Country

While touring wineries in northern Baja we discovered a beautiful countryside and quite a few estates to visit and wines to try.  The wines were much better than we expected, especially some of the blends.

We did happen upon this unique winery that didn't have a name that we could find, but did a marvelous job of building re-use.  There was the wine bottle building, the box spring building, the wine box board building and one that even featured the slats from wine barrels.  Nice to see creativity in an unexpected area.

Goat-boy Pinata

There were lots of strange sights that we saw while out shopping, but this pinata store caught my eye???  If I could have figured out a party theme, I might have purchased these - NOT

Lounging in Northern Baja

Nothing like sitting out on the patio and watching the waves come in...... The sea lions were about 30 miles away, but the picture sums up how we felt lounging around.

Desert Wildlife

We did see several jack rabbits scampering around the desert on our trip, but this is the only one that stood still long enough for me to photograph!

Hot Chilies

Most folks hang up just one or maybe two ristras but this historic ranch/ restaurant went for full impact! I love the color of the chilies against the chocolate brown stucco.

Bloomin' Desert

Lucky us, the desert was in bloom! This was the first time I had seen blooming ocotillo. It usually appears as a dead looking jumble of sticks (often cut and used for fencing or for covering pergolas). But in the spring it leafs out and has red flowers at the top. Hummingbirds supposedly follow the blooms north during their migration. These were south of Tucson.

Chimayo

Santuario de Chimayo is an historic adobe church built in the early 1800's. During Holy Week there are tens of thousands of people who make a pilgrimage here due to it's legendary "holy dirt" which many believe has healing powers. Check out their website www.elsantuariodechimayo.us (oh Pat I could use your "techy-ness" again!)

Santo Nino

Here is Santo Nino Chapel which is a short distance from El Santuario de Chimayo. It is predominately decorated with religious folk art on the chapel but on the gate they've updated with some contemporary doves and a larger than life Hallmark angel! (A companion angel is on the other gate.)

The Painted Lady

Santa Fe, so much fun!! Too little time and too much to explore. Only one solution, return often!

A Sighting in the South West

Well we've been on the road for a week and I have a few things that I want to share with you. Here's a find in Las Vegas, NM that made me stop and ponder..... is it more disturbing or more fascinating? I think a little of both, especially with those glass eyes staring down at you!

Pasadena Advertising Smiles

When I saw this one, all I could hear was the lady in the old Burger King ad saying "Where's the Beef".

.....and "The Father of all Buns" is in Old Pasadena, in case you ever wondered where he resided.  I'll have to check out his buns soon :)

"Designer" Restaurant in LA

The flat sinks in the restrooms are a nice touch and even work amazingly well. The fun bar definitely grabs you.  Philippe Starck always knows how to make a statement.
